Confession: THIRI has been shipping with two golds. Actually — count them — five.

build.thiri.ai and the internal lab pages ran a brassy #D4A017 on a navy base. Meanwhile thiri.ai runs a champagne #C4A35A on warm neutrals with Playfair Display headlines. Put the tabs side by side and they look like two companies that happen to share a logo. Then it gets worse: thiri.ai itself had three stray golds of its own — the founders page at #C9A84C, a hero section with #DEB938 hardcoded straight into the markup, and a studio brass tone that answered to no token at all. Five golds. One brand. Not great.

The fix, in order of leverage

One token block swap in global.css. The build site’s palette lives in CSS custom properties, so the navy-and-brass block became the champagne-and-warm-neutral block in a single edit. Everything reading the tokens updated for free.
The Tailwind trick. The build site leaned on Tailwind’s stock amber-* scale — roughly 200 utility usages scattered across its pages. Instead of rewriting 200 class names, we remapped the amber scale itself to a champagne ramp in the same @theme block. One edit, ~200 fixes.
The sweep. About 40 hardcoded hexes were hiding in component CSS, never tokenized. Found, replaced, pointed at the tokens so they can’t drift again.
Typography. Playfair Display is now the display face everywhere, not just on the marketing site.
Physician, heal thyself. thiri.ai’s own three strays — founders, hero, studio — got folded into the canon too. The standard-bearer needed standardizing.

Why this matters more than a coat of paint

Design tokens are infrastructure. Twelve dApps in twelve weeks means a new surface gets scaffolded basically every week. If the palette lives in tokens, every new surface inherits the standard on day one, automatically. If it lives in hardcoded hexes, every new surface is a fresh opportunity to drift — and by Week 12 you’re doing archaeology on your own gold shades again. In a sprint this compressed you fix the mold, not each casting.

One gold to rule them all: #C4A35A. If you spot a #D4A017 anywhere in the ecosystem after today, that’s a bug. File it.
